This began as a collaborative project in 2002 casting and printing objects found on our smallholding. At this time we were influenced by the work of the apothecaries of the middle ages and 18th Century botanists, contemporary artists such as Mark Dion, Rachael Whiteread, Cornelia Parker and Doris Salcedo, we began to explore our environment, bringing into focus the intricate detail and beauty in everything we worked with. Our exploration slow started to turn into a business running alongside our other creative practices.
We now create one off monoprints, jewellery, sculptural relief's, keepsakes, tokens of remembrance and associated printed material including greetings cards and small self published books. We transform natural objects into precious art pieces utilising an extensive range of mould making, casting and printmaking processes, whilst celebrating and respecting the environment around us
We research poetry, folklore and symbolism which emphasises the greater meaning and intrinsic importance of natural history especially its importance in the lives of humans. Some of our jewellery becomes a sort of talisman or totem, conjuring up the language of flowers(floriography) and the ancient Celtic traditions of Ogham.
We are nestled into a hillside in West Cornwall and surrounded by countryside and coastal landscapes in which we search for treasures, shells, bones, mermaids purses, leaves and flowers. Cornwall is an endless source of inspiration for us, from leaves on a woodland walk or the wild and windswept moors and endless beach combing, Our pieces become a record of time spent in the landscape, moments in time held in artworks.
Our range of products is developing slowly... so please follow us on social media if you would like to be the first to see the new work as it becomes available.
We occasionally take commissions, for a garden portrait, sensory trails, bridal bouquets, memorial flowers, foliage gathered on a shared walk, a christening gown, or selection of poignant objects please contact us for further details.
